Still, a 50% drop is nothing to sneeze at, and I’m sure it’s not what Activision and Infinity Ward wanted to see.
Update: I forgot about this, but this is also the first COD that isn't coming out for both Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as new gen, which also comes with a built-in sales decrease. Even with a dip in sales, Infinite Warfare still has a great shot of being the best-selling game of this year, thanks to how robust the series is. Even if Black Ops III was far from the glory days of earlier titles that were settling world sales records every year, it was still the best-selling game of the year by a wide margin. Call of Duty still has an incredibly long way to fall as a series. Plus there are the usual factors like the Season Pass and the fact that more digital copies of games are purchased every single year. Also, as has been discussed, Infinite Warfare will now be pushing Supply Drop loot crate microtransactions harder than ever before, which are not included in these totals. 
So even if numbers are down, if a significant portion of players are now paying $80 instead of $60 for the game (or whatever the pound equivalent is), that can skew things. Remember, this is a year that many, many copies of Infinite Warfare are $20 more than usual, if players are picking up Modern Warfare remastered, which many are.
These are only physical box sales, and don’t account for a number of factors. 
However, the dip may indicate that BF1 in particular posed a unique challenge this year compared to others.
This number still means that Infinite Warfare sold better in week one than Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 combined. It’s entirely possible that Infinite Warfare does better than this in North America where the series is more popular overall, and we don’t have those figures yet. The UK does not represent the rest of the world.
